I am 31 years old and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 13 years now! We have two children, one boy (9) and one girl (7)! I was very athletic in High School and began modeling and working out right after high School. I had been a steady size 5 in high school and went down to a size 1 for modeling! I was so skinny! Anyways, after two complicated pregnancies on bed rest for months, I found myself 90 lbs heavier! I have struggled for 9 years now trying to get the weight off. I have finally gotten somewhere!!! :

Daily Update

So tomorrow (Friday) I am attending a class at the local church gym. It is 30 mins cycling, 30 mins weight training, and then another 30 min cycle! It is going to kill me! hahaha. However, I think this is what I may need to jump start my motivation to work out. If I can pull off a few classes a week and small workouts at home...I might just get back on track! :)

Foods today -
Breakfast - None.... :(
Lunch - Turkey, Dressing, candied yams, green beans, peach cobbler, whole wheat roll, cranberry, sweet tea (this was from the kids school....we had Thanksgiving lunch), Not ideal but....I was not passing up this lunch with my kids! :)
Dinner - Fuji apple chicken salad from Panera

Drinks - Water, Coffee, Sparkling water and blackberry juice, water, Sugar Free Red Bull, water.....

No real workout today! I spent the day spray painting furniture and cleaning out the kids room to make room for the painted furniture.

Getting your diet straight

Getting your diet straight is NOT an easy task. Especially when you are busy and the easiest thing is to stop through a drive thru!

I am working really hard to get my foods clean again! I have felt so fatigued lately! I think it is partly the way I was eating, the lack of physical exercise and just being so busy!

So I figure get the diet clean, slowly bring in the exercise again and hopefully it will all motivate me to get better, stronger and more fit!

My real goal in all of this is to be a GREAT role model for my kids. 2nd goal is to get me healthy and to feel good about it!

So....Here is my food journal from this week so far!

November 5, 2010
Breakfast - Veggie omelet - 2 eggs, bell peppers, onion, mushroom, tomato, low fat cheese

Lunch - side salad (blue cheese (I know bad! but it did not even coat my salad I used so little. lol), very small serving of Mac and Cheese (literally like......2 large bites) and green beans

Dinner - Rotisserie Chicken and a mix of fruit!

Drinks - coffee, double shot energy drink, water, apple cider!

SEE - that is MY problem! DRINKS! I drink SO MANY empty calories!

Ok so today is one of those days that it is kind of hard to eat right!!! Football messes me all up!
I had a bowl of chili at the game and then 12 chicken nuggets with slaw for lunch.
I will also have food at the birthday party lately! Today will be my true CHEAT day!
I allow myself 1-2 a week to keep me in check! :)

Breakfast - None b/c I slept in
Lunch - Fuji Apple chicken salad
Snack - tomato soup
Dinner - Beef and vegetable soup - homemade
Drinks - Caramel Apple Spiced Cider from Starbucks, water, coffee, sparkling water and fruit juice and now a cranberry vodka
See....dang it with my damn drinks already...I need some self control when it comes to my drinks!!!

Breakfast - onions, bell peppers, tomato, mushrooms and biscuits with gravy (I could not resist it!)
Lunch - Small chicken salad - lettuce, bell peppers, onion, carrots, 1 egg (and the nasty yoke, thanks mom), bacon (again yuck, thanks mom), cheese, grilled chicken, EVOO and Red wine vinegar
EDIT - I ate a bowl of cereal for dinner. apple cinnamon cheerios

Breakfast - Jalapeno bagel, ham, swiss cheese and egg sandwich from Panera (BAD BAD BAD but OH SO GOOD! lol)
Lunch - Mongolian stir fry! It taste like it should be bad but it was VERY healthy!!! Yay
Dinner - Grilled chicken thighs, corn on the cob, brown rice. I think the corn and rice together was a bad choice as far as dieting but it all tasted good! haha
Drinks - 2 large Black coffees, 1 glass water (NOT enough), 1 glass of sparkling water with Blackberry fruit juice
**I think my drinks were better today but no good enough! I NEED to force myself to drink MORE water! My goal tomorrow is at least 50 ozs of water. I think I will pick up a large Smart water before work and work on drinking that whole thing tomorrow! **
PLEASE hold me accountable for my water if I don't post it!!! :) 

I am drinking WAY too many calories and way too little water!  I do see things here and there that I could cut out of my diet but mostly......it is the drinks!! 

My Exercise for this week (very minimal) 
I wanted to add my exercises yesterday even though it was minimal! squats, pushups, dips, jumping jacks, lunges, yoga poses, stretches. Not much but at least something. I am PRAYING that I will get my BUTT in the gym soon!!!

Back from Vegas! - Ready to Rock and get back on Track!!!

So the last time I wrote I was getting ready for a trip to Vegas! I want you all to know that I DID in fact loose the 10 lbs I was trying to lose before Vegas! I was super stressed and busy with my husband sick and trying to get ready for a trip. I ate mostly protein and veggies with very little complex carbs. I worked out almost everyday. 

Once I got to Vegas I decided to live it up and enjoy my time there. I ate what I wanted which honestly was not bad at all! My downfall was drinking. I will admit to drinking way too many calories. I have continued to do this since I got back from Vegas and have now gained EVERY SINGLE POUND back! UGH! 

Why do I do this to myself? Why do any of us do that? I think it will always be a life long struggle to stay fit, healthy and thin. I am happy and proud of myself when I am working out. I feel blah and unhappy right now with myself and my lack of motivation!
I have begun helping my mother out at her restaurant and I will admit that is SUPER hard to NOT eat all those things that are in front of me all the time. The homemade pies, the rolls, the fried foods! OMGOSH! The people that work there including my family give me a hard time about my food choices b/c they say I am thin enough and could stand to eat something fattening! I say thanks but I am not at my goal and I am going to continue to eat right. It is NOT about being skinny to me. It is about being healthy, being a good example for my kids and more importantly it is about being happy with ME! 

I am hoping to begin working out with a partner soon. I spoke with her today about it and I can NOT wait. Sometimes you just need someone in your corner to help get you started, to help you get motivated. I have dealt with big weight gain and now loss. I know as well as anyone how hard it is.
I am here to tell you though... You are NEVER alone! It is NEVER impossible to lose the weight! 

I can and I WILL lose the 20 lbs I want to ultimately lose! My short term goal for this week is 5lbs. I want to lose 5lbs by Sunday, October 24, 2010.

YAY!!!

Last night was a LONG night! I had to sleep all by myself b/c Jake was in the hospital still. :(
I woke up many many times last night and that has me OH so tired this morning!!!
However, I am so super excited. For one, I think Jake may be doing lots better....For two, I got on the scale this morning and was going to yell at myself for the little piece of cake I ate yesterday and the margarita from last night, BUT.......I am now DOWN  5 LBS!!! YAY!! I just might make the goal of 10 lbs in 10 days now. I have lots to do today but I am hoping and praying that I can still get in a good workout. Not sure which one to do today. I was kind of thinking the plyometrics from P90X. I could use a good cardio workout.


My weight this morning was 155.3!

Getting a workout on a crazy hectic day!

So life is always throwing us curve balls! I really need to get in a workout but I am so super tired from not getting much sleep last night! Jake was up all night and I kept waking up too. I have to take him to a couple doctors today, pick up the kids from school, do homework, make dinner, and then rush off to football. AAAGGGHHHH!!! 

My goal today is to complete a Jari Love video. I am in need of a good lower body workout and her squats, pulses and deadlifts are amazingly good. Hard but good!!! :)  

I will check back later to update  you on what I ate and what I was able to complete. 

**Just completed Jari Love - Get Ripped! 
I LOVE her workouts! They are fantastic strength training workouts. I really like the emphasis on lower body.

Lunch - no time for lunch :( 
Dinner - 2 pcs of baked chicken, with mixed fruit - honey dew melon, fresh pineapple, blueberries, strawberries, black berries and raspberries. 
snack - 1/2 pc small cake and a margarita :(

Kenpo X

I had to take Jake (my husband) to the ER this afternoon. I ate a big breakfast and nothing until 7:30 pm tonight. ***In case you are wondering what was wrong with my husband.....he is unfortunately passing a kidney stone and is in horrible pain!**

Breakfast - 2 egg veggie omelet. (tomato, mushroom, cheese, onion, bell peppers, jalapenos), Hashbrowns with onions, mushroom and tomato

Dinner - Large salad - iceburg lettuce, bell pepper, tomato, cucumber. Homemade dressing - Dijon mustard, sesame oil, red wine vinegar, red onion, fresh garlic.

I will come back and let you know what else I fit in.

Hello Again!!

So I feel like I have been struggling to get my motivation up! It really kind of sucks. It does not help that I have been dealing with cluster headaches and migraines again. :(
I get all pumped to workout and then I feel so physically exhausted that I give up too soon! I am down 1.5 lbs since the beginning of this week. I am worried I will not make it to my goal of 10 lbs by Tuesday!

Today's food was:
Breakfast - 2 egg whites, tomato and jalapeno
Lunch - Turkey burger on Whole Wheat with 2% cheese, ff mayo, onion, tomato, jalapeno
Dinner - Salad with iceburg lettuce, cucumber, tomato, chicken and homemade dressing - (sesame oil, Dijon mustard, Red Wine Vinegar, 3 garlic cloves, red onion)

Edit - So later on last night I decided to fit in another small workout. 
20 side pull ups (band)
20 hands up pull ups (band) 
20 hands down pull ups (band)
20 wide pull ups (band)
10 guy push ups 
10 girl push ups 
16 wide push ups -girl 
5 close push ups - (girl and triceps)
20 dips 
30 squat with arm raise - 6lbs
20 ea back lunge - 6lbs 
20 ea forward lunge - 6lbs
30 down set squats (like football quarterback)
20 hip swings (dip down and swing hips side to side - kind of stripper like lol)
20 crunches 
20 reverse crunches with legs straight and then out

 I am sure this extra workout was good but the HUGE bowl of  cereal after was NOT! I don't get why I do things like that!!! 

The cereal was honey nut cheerios, rice chex, sliced almonds and whole milk

So yesterday I was really good with my diet and today I have been really good as well! I was working out and eating right but gaining weight.....MY DOWNFALL - MARGARITAS!!!  I love those things and they were making me fat! lol. I can't help it....summer equals margaritas for me. lol. 

Anyways, I last night I did 10 assisted pull-ups, hands forward and backwards. Then I did 17 guy push ups with 15 girl push ups. I also did wide, diamond and close handed push ups. I did dips 25 and squats 30. I did several jumping jacks and 20 crunches with 20 bicycle each side. Oh and also 30 reverse crunches! 

I did loose 1.5 lbs last week! Yay! I have one more week left to loose more weight. Now that I know what my culprit is....I should do much better! 


Oh and I have been wanting to purchase and interval timer and then I thought.....what about an app for that. lol. I have the droid market and I found one! Yay! Its free and now I can do interval workouts so much better! Can't wait. 

I think tonight I may try to get in a Body Rock.tv workout. I LOVE her workouts. I will be sure to update you on what I accomplished.

Back on Track with a 10 Day goal!!

I have been struggling to get back on track! I took a break from fitness and nutrition and though it felt worth it....Its hard to get back into the groove! My mom has opened a family restaurant and my son is in football. The kids are now both in school as well...SO...my days are staying very busy! Hoping to get all this under some kind of routine soon though! 
 

I did try a cycle class last week and a few little things here and there.

Today though.......I did the following: 

**Just completed the Kenpo X (boxing and kicking) from P90X - Whew! I love this shit! I think I may look into boxing classes! **

**I just completed 7 miles on my mountain bike with my hubby! WOW! That was HARD!!! Its time for a shower!

After shower - time for lunch. I am thinking a big salad! Maybe some chicken on it. Yummy. 

I ended up eating a salad - iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese (just a little) breaded chicken thighs with EVOO and Red wine vinegar.  Also had a roasted Chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese and light mayo on whole wheat Arnolds bread.

I also had a Starbucks coffee today. It was a Venti Nonfat Toffee Mocha. So good. Then I had a Strawberry Banana Shake from Steak and Shake. (so bad but so good). I gotta get better at just saying NO to those cravings! 


I will try posting some pics soon!

10 days til VEGAS! I want to loose 10 lbs in 10 days! Can I do it? We will see! :)

4th of July



So we had a GREAT time with family yesterday. We spent the day visiting, laying out by the pool and eating yummy NOT good for you food! It was lots of fun but I paid the price for it! I gained 3 lbs yesterday from the food and drinks. I also skipped a workout completely.

I am not sure why I feel so guilty b/c I can make it up this week but I do. I felt like crap all day today and I did not eat right or workout today either! I have to be somewhere in the morning but I am thinking about do a workout in the morning before I leave.

All in all it was a great weekend and hopefully I can make up for weaknesses. I plan to kick my fitness into high gear once school starts this year. Both of my kids will be in school and I will be able to focus on me a little more. :)

Not Feeling It Workout

I was feeling super tired and drained today! I did not want to do anything today including cook or clean. I did not eat breakfast (bad bad) and I chose to eat Japanese Take out for lunch. I decided NOT to eat dinner b/c I over ate at lunch and still felt sick from it. YUCK. I also drank a fountain coke and nothing else, so before my workout I drank 12 ozs of water and I am hoping to fit in a few more glasses before bed!

My workout today was approximately 10 minutes.

 25 sit ups
25 reverse crunches
50 bicycle crunches
25 regular push ups
10 Military Push ups
25 Squats (body weight only)
25 Sumo Squats (Body weight Only)
10 Backward lunges
35 Jumping Jacks
10 knee tuck jumps

I plan to try and fit in a few more later this evening and I will report back if I do!

workout and food 7/1/10

Just completed day 2 of my 6wk to 5k. I did 2 min walking then 2 min running. Alternating that til 20mins. I completed 1.5 miles in 20 Minutes. I should be doing this early a.m. b/c this is so hard after dinner! I thought I could puke! BLAH! Just completed day 2 of my 6wk to 5k. I did 2 min walking then 2 min running. Breakfast - uncut oatmeal, sliced almonds, maple syrup and 1/2 banana

Lunch - Large salad - iceburg lettuce, spinach, red bell pepper, cucumber, tomato, red onion and homemade dressing (dijon mustard, red wine vinegar, red onion, EVOO, salt and pepper)

Dinner - Fried breaded in flour tilapia (my family does not like fish unless like this), squash, tomato, sweet potato fries

I did not drink enough water today!! I had 2 cups of coffee and pretty much nothing else! I will try to get my water in now.

My 1st day of 6wks to 5k


This is my take on the 1st day of my 6wks to a 5k.

Update on my fresh start



So this video is about my fresh start! It tells you what my downfalls are. What my goals are and where I am at! :) The only thing I wish I had included was my measurements. I did not take those yet but I will hopefully this week and post those for you!

I really hope that at some point I can add lots of pictures and some of my workouts to this so that maybe I can not only motivate me but hopefully others as well! :)

I began my journey after my daughter was born in 2005. I have come a long long ways since then but this is the beginning of my video blog! I will add as much of my information to here as I can along the way! :)
